Charles Alber was born in 1897 in the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She was a member of the Choctaw tribe, and her family had a long history of leadership and activism. Charles's father was a Baptist minister, and her mother was a teacher. Charles was raised to be proud of her Choctaw heritage, and she was taught the importance of education and service to her community.

Charles attended Bacone College, a Baptist school for Native Americans in Oklahoma. She was a bright and talented student, and she excelled in her studies. After graduating from Bacone, Charles worked as a teacher and a social worker. She also became involved in politics, and she served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1932.

In 1934, Charles married Walter Alber, a Choctaw man who shared her passion for social justice. Together, they worked to improve the lives of Native Americans in Oklahoma. Charles served as president of the Oklahoma Indian Women's Association, and she was a member of the National Council of American Indians.

Charles Alber was a tireless advocate for Native American rights. She spoke out against discrimination and injustice, and she worked to preserve Choctaw culture and traditions. She was a role model for Native American women, and she inspired others to fight for their rights.

Charles Alber died in 1980, but her legacy continues to live on. She is remembered as a courageous and compassionate woman who made a significant contribution to the fight for Native American rights.

Choctaw Woman Charles Alber is an inspiring and educational book that tells the story of a remarkable woman who overcame adversity and fought for her people. The book is written by Alber's daughter, Carolyn Alberti, and it is based on interviews with Alber and her family and friends.

Choctaw Woman Charles Alber is a valuable resource for anyone who is interested in Native American history, women's history, or American history. The book is well-written and engaging, and it provides a unique perspective on the history of the Choctaw people.

If you are looking for a book that will inspire you and make you think, I highly recommend Choctaw Woman Charles Alber.
