The Battle of Bunker Hill

The Battle of Bunker Hill was the first major battle of the Revolutionary War. It was fought on June 17, 1775, on Breed's Hill in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The British army was victorious, but the Americans inflicted heavy casualties and proved that they were a force to be reckoned with.

The battle began when the British landed on the Charlestown peninsula and marched towards Breed's Hill. The Americans, who were outnumbered and outgunned, dug in and waited for the British to attack. The British charged up the hill three times, but each time they were met with a hail of gunfire. The Americans eventually ran out of ammunition and were forced to retreat.

The American army, led by General Horatio Gates, defeated the British army, led by General John Burgoyne. The victory at Saratoga convinced the French to enter the war on the side of the Americans.

The battle began when Burgoyne's army marched from Canada into New York. Gates' army met Burgoyne's army at Saratoga and the two armies fought a series of battles. The Americans were eventually victorious, and Burgoyne was forced to surrender.

The victory at Trenton boosted the morale of the American army and showed the British that they could not easily defeat the Americans.

The battle began when Washington's army crossed the Delaware River and attacked the British army in Trenton. The British were surprised by the attack and were quickly defeated. Washington's army captured over 1,000 prisoners and a large amount of supplies.

The American and French armies, led by General George Washington and General Rochambeau, defeated the British army, led by General Charles Cornwallis. The victory at Yorktown led to the surrender of the British army and the end of the Revolutionary War.

The battle began when Washington's army and the French army surrounded Cornwallis' army in Yorktown. The Americans and French bombarded the British army with artillery and eventually forced Cornwallis to surrender.
