Once upon a time, in a far-off land, there was a beautiful princess named Briar Rose. She was the only child of King and Queen Celeste, and they loved her very much. On the day of her christening, the wise old fairy Maleficent was not invited. In a fit of rage, she cursed the infant princess, saying that on her sixteenth birthday, she would prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die.

The king and queen were horrified. They did everything they could to protect their daughter from the curse, but on her sixteenth birthday, Briar Rose found a spinning wheel in the castle attic and pricked her finger. She fell into a deep sleep, and the entire castle fell asleep with her.

One hundred years later, a handsome prince named Phillip rode through the forest and came to the sleeping castle. He found Briar Rose lying in her bed, and he was immediately smitten with her beauty. He leaned down and kissed her, and the curse was broken. Briar Rose awoke, and the entire castle came to life.

The prince and princess were married, and they lived happily ever after.
